About the certification
Control Union Certifications (CUC) is engaged in sustainable water usage and since 2010 has been a member of the steering committee of the European Water Stewardship (EWS). CUC was involved in development of the standard and certification scheme and the first certification body to be approved for EWS.
Audits are carried out by our global network of qualified and experienced auditors. Furthermore, we can provide information on the standard and compliance requirements.
The EWS standard is built around:
The four elements the standard is made up of
-
Sustainable water extraction
-
Good water status
-
High Conservation Value areas
-
Water governance
