Global Standard for Food Safety
This standard specifies the food safety, quality and operational criteria required within a food manufacturing organisation. The standard doesn’t apply to food products which do not undergo any process at the site audited or to activities relating to wholesale, importation, distribution or storage outside the direct control of the company. The scope of the Standard includes pet foods for domestic animals and animal feed. This standard is recognised by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).
Global Standard for Storage and Distribution
The Standard is specifically designed for logistics operations dealing with Food, Packaging, and Consumer Products and is also GFSI recognised. The storage and/or distribution operations to which the Standard is applied can be at any point in the distribution chain from primary production to retail. A unique benefit of the Standard is that Operations can choose Additional Modules (AMs) that cover common current industry practices to demonstrate greater supply chain assurance. The AMs cover e-commerce, cross-docking, wholesale, contracted packing, inspection and waste management.
Global Standard for Packaging and Packaging Materials
The Standard applies to manufacturers of packaging materials that are used in the production of, and filling operations for, food, hygiene-sensitive consumer products (including cosmetics), raw materials, and other consumer products. The standard is also applicable to operations that produce packaging materials for conversion or printing; supply packaging materials from stock where additional product processing or repacking occurs; or manufacture and supply of other materials that are unconverted or semi-converted and used or incorporated. This standard is GFSI recognised.
Global Standard for Agents and Brokers
BRCGS Agents and Brokers Certification is recognised by many retailers, food service companies and manufacturers around the world when assessing the capabilities of their suppliers. This applies to companies in the food, packaging and consumer products supply chain that buy, sell or facilitate the trade of products and may provide additional services such as the purchase, importation or distribution of the products, but do not manufacture or process those products. The Standard covers the certification of the following product categories: Food products, including raw materials, processed foods, and fruit and vegetables; Packaging materials – primary, secondary and tertiary materials, and raw materials for the manufacture of packaging materials; Pet foods for domestic animals; and Consumer products. This standard is also GFSI recognised.
